Q: When can I claim if my course is over 2, 3 or 4 years?
A: You can claim (up to £250) in each financial year for the period of time reflected on your receipt. If your receipt is for the full course you can only claim at the end.
Q: My course runs from October to May can I claim in both financial years?
A: No, as you need to have completed at least 75% of the course before you can claim.
Q: Can I claim for an Course with Political or Religious content?
A: No, refer to Partner Handbook (2009) page 27 point 3.
Q: Can I claim for Ice Skating?
A: No - unless you have tutored lessons. This also applies to any other activity in which you participate without instruction.
Q: Can I claim for Experience Days (ie. Virgin Experiences/Red Letter Days)?
A: No.
Q: Can I claim for my University or full time education course?
A: No - Leisure Learning is intended for 'secondary' learning and a full time University course is not eligible.
Q: Can I claim for an Open University course?
A: Yes.
Q: Can I claim for any online or distance learning course?
A: No - as there is no tutored learning.
Q: Can I claim for a driving course from a police penalty charge?
A: No.
Q: What if I want to do a course relating to work?
A: Contact your Personnel Office. If they are unable to provide a subsidy you can claim in the normal way through Leisure Learning.
