Things to do & see

You must take a wander around Brownsea Island itself: Owned by the National Trust and with a section run by the Dorset Wildlife Trust, explore the whole of the island at any time of the day or night.

You’ll probably see an abundance of birds, Sika deer, colourful Peacocks and elusive Red Squirrels! We also have four bikes you can borrow, (seasonally) before 9.30 am or after 5.30 pm, to follow a guided route which takes in a little of the Brownsea history and views.

Off the island, if you really can pull yourself away, there are plenty of local sights to see, including Bournemouth beach with its miles of golden sands and Studland bay, where a great day's walk will take you to the beautiful spot of Old Harry's Rock, with its splendid views of the Jurassic Coast.

For more local attractions please visit the 'Visit Poole' website.
